چکیده

Plantar pressure distribution after the first metatarsal proximal crescentic osteotomy (FMPCO) with lesser shortening (LMPSO) for hallux valgus metatarsalgia has not been previously described. The pre- (Pre) and postoperative (Post) groups comprised of 18 patients who underwent unilateral FMPCO LMPSO; fifteen healthy volunteers constituted control (C) group. For each 10 regions, peak (Peak-P), maximum force (Max-F), contact time (Con-T), area (Con-A), force-time integral (FTI) were measured. mean Peak-P second head was significantly lower in Post group than Pre Peak-P, Max-F, Con-T, FTI different between C groups. Con-A LMPSO may improve plantar central forefoot comparable to subjects.

Correction of adolescent hallux valgus by proximal crescentic osteotomy of the first metatarsal.

Thirty nine surgical hallux valgus corrections in 32 adolescents (7 bilateral) performed between 1994 and 2001 were retrospectively studied. The mean age at the time of surgery was 14.2 years. The operation consisted of a proximal dome osteotomy of the first metatarsal, excision of the medial protuberance, lateral capsular and adductor release, and distal medial soft tissue plication. The patie...

Basal metatarsal osteotomy for hallux valgus.

We performed basal chevron metatarsal osteotomy on 32 feet (31 patients) for painful hallux valgus associated with an increased intermetatarsal 1/2 angle (> 12 degrees). Pedobarographic and radiological examinations were done preoperatively and at a minimum of six months postoperatively. The average hallux valgus angle was improved from 40.9 degrees to 19.2 degrees and the intermetatarsal 1/2 a...

Clinical results of modified Mitchell's osteotomy for hallux valgus augmented with oblique lesser metatarsal osteotomy.

PURPOSE To evaluate postoperative results of modified Mitchell's osteotomy and its combination with oblique metatarsal osteotomy for the treatment of hallux valgus. METHODS A total of 93 feet of 53 patients (2 men and 51 women) with hallux valgus underwent modified Mitchell's osteotomy and were followed up for at least 5 years. Patients' age ranged from 17 to 83 years, and the duration of fol...

Biomechanical consequences of first metatarsal osteotomy in treating hallux valgus.

BACKGROUND Among the numerous osteotomies for correction of hallux valgus, the modified chevron is known for its good intrinsic stability and the scarf for its large corrective potential. An intermediate design, the reversed-L osteotomy, has been developed to combine these competing biomechanical objectives. The purpose of this in vitro study was to compare the structural and local biomechanica...

Chevron osteotomy of the first metatarsal for hallux valgus.

A retrospective study of 50 chevron osteotomies evaluated subjective and objective functional and cosmetic results, which were in keeping with other reported studies--i.e. satisfactory subjective cosmesis in 98%; excellent or good pain relief in 84%; and satisfactory objective cosmesis in 84%. The correction of the 1st intermetatarsal angle averaged 3.3 degrees, and that of the metatarsophalang...
